Thanksgiving in Tulsa!

We did Thanksgiving in Tulsa this year and it was a lotta fun!
Here's me and Juls the night before Thanksgiving:

and me and Dave at Kellie's housewarming party:

Thanksgiving morning we woke up and had a Butter Braid (thank you for supporting Junior League, Mom and Dad). Which we washed down with a couple mimosas! I think my mom has the pics from the morning... but just imagine us in our pajamas drinking mimosas. I'm sure the pics aren't very flattering!
We all got dressed and headed over to Nana's for her delicious Thanksgiving Late Lunch. Has anyone come up with a saying for Lunch and Dinner combined? Linner? Dunch? Anyways, I was a bad blogger and didn't take a single picture of the spread! I know, totally unlike me! But it was all So yummy! Thanks Nana!
After the feast the boys went out back to burn some of the calories they had just consumed, with some good old fashioned football.

Hunter chasing Cooper and Mitzi!

Later on we played a family game of Cranium (Me and Dave won), Matt attempted to act out "Lightening" by pretending to be Zeus and throwing things down from the sky. Nobody knew what he was doing it was pretty hilarious!  He also acted out a mermaid very well and had no idea who Martha Stewart was so he had to draw again. My Dad kind of went blank when trying to act out Jack Nicholson but eventually my Mom got it. If you haven't played Cranium yet I highly suggest you do, it's fun for everyone! We all had a blast!
Then we walked over to Utica Square for the annual "Lights On!" celebration. The lights were already on when we got there (too much fun playing Cranium). But we still walked around and had a good time.

After we got home from Lights On, Matt and Dave rocked out, Juls snuggled with Cooper and then she got hooked on Donkey Kong!

Friday night, at Autumn's Church Studio Concert with my old highschool BFF Sunny!
So good to see her and her awesome family! Autumn's an amazing musician and singer and their Dad might be one of the funniest people I know! He used to call us shithead #1 and shithead #2 because we terrorized him so much in our highschool years! haha!

Saturday we woke up SUPER early to head to Norman for Bedlam!
This is my plea to the BIG 12 - Please Please Please do not EVER make Bedlam a morning game EVER again! It was Brutal!
Despite the early morning, we still managed to get ready in time for Dave's family to come over for a bit before the game. It was great to have them, they're the most laid back, fun in-laws I could have asked for!
All in all it was one of the best Thanksgiving weekends yet! Good luck to next years Thanksgiving... you've got a lot to live up to!

Great Ideas

I was stumbling around and ended up on one of my favorite websites Real Simple. They always have the best little home and entertaining ideas. When I read some of their "New uses for old household objects"I thought I should share. I will definitely be trying this one out and my hubbs will be happy to possibly eliminate the clutter under the kitchen sink! "Forget unruly plastic bags that seemingly regenerate under your kitchen sink. An empty tissue box keeps them neatly corralled and ready for use."

I also really like this idea for traveling. "A giveaway shower cap becomes the perfect wrapper for shoes when traveling, preventing them from dirtying clothes packed in your suitcase."

I can't wait to try this on the next warm morning we have... hopefully winter will hold off a little longer! We love walking the dogs in the mornings and this would be great to take them to breakfast at Cafe Plaid or Starbucks! "A binder clip serves as a key chain/money holder you can clamp to your waistband for a purse-free morning walk."

And there was one idea I had already done! Love this website! "Silence cabinet doors that slam with cork sliced into thin disks and glued onto the inside corners." (I used felt circle stickers that can be found in the picture hanging department)

And I can't wait to try this idea! Maybe for the holiday party in a couple weeks? So adorable! "Give cocktails extra pop with lollies in complementary colors subbed in for stirrers."

There are 50 different ideas so if you're interested in hearing more check them out here!

Happy Fakesgiving!

We've got a great weekend planned! I thought I'd share with you what our fun plans are so you can all be jealous. Tonight we're all going out in the city for Brent's birthday... should be a crazy night! Dave and I haven't gone out on the town in a while, so I decided I wanted a cute new outfit for tonight. Found an adorable dress at BCBG half off, can't beat that! I was so excited, then when I got home to hang it up I noticed the girl had left the security sensor on it! UGH! This seriously happens to me ALL the time! How hard is your job? I mean - you hang up clothes and get people dressing rooms, can you not remember to do the one thing that affects the customer the most?!!? So frustrating! Hopefully it's still as cute despite the hassle.

Tomorrow we're having a Happy Fakesgiving with our close friends Lindy and Ryan! We decided to kick off the holidays early! Ryan borrowed his dad's turkey fryer, so we're having fried turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, broccoli casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls, and lots of wine! I'm also making the appetizers to eat during the OU vs Texas Tech game. Paula Deen's spinach artichoke dip and some yummy cranberry cocktail meatballs! Oh and I'm also attempting to make a Harvest Loaf Bundt cake... please note this will be my first time baking something from scratch. Wish me luck!

I will post pictures of the Fakesgiving spread next week to get your mouths watering for Thanksgiving!
